At lululemon, our purpose is to elevate the world by realising the full potential in every one of us.

From day 1, we have placed an emphasis on leadership development, goal setting and personal responsibility for our teams. Our “Purpose, Vision and Goals” program, enables our employees to realize their goals, both inside and outside of work.

The intention of this Values, Vision and Goals series is to extend the program to our wider community, to facilitate for you to connect to your values, envision a life you love and set goals that are aligned with both.

Each module has been condensed to a 10-12 minute IGTV video which you can watch or plug in and tune in like a podcast. Each part is also accompanied by a worksheet to assist your reflection.

When it comes to the sequence, we have found it highly effective to complete in this order; Values, Vision and then Goals. However, sometimes, we find ourselves needing one more than the other and so you can certainly practise them in whatever order serves you best.

What's important to know is that Values, Vision and Goals are practices. The work is never 'done' and the process and outcomes are unique to the individual; they can even change each and every time you revisit the practices.

If this is your first time doing Values, Vision and Goal, approach these modules with commitment and curiosity. If you are returning for a reset or a refresh, stay open to what may present.

Values

Family. Excellence. Individuality. Passion. What do all of these have in common?

They’re all values that we might choose to uphold; to help us decide how we act and what we act on.

As Spanish philosopher, José Ortega y Gasset, succinctly put it - “A highly developed values system is like a compass. It serves as a guide to point you in the right direction when you are lost”.

Start exploring your values in this first module.

Goals

It’s time to set goals that shape and stretch you towards your highest potential, with your values and vision in mind. Goal-setting can be scary for people so it may help to remember that this is your life and your story; dive as deep as you want and review and change when you need.

The purpose of goal-setting is not to intimidate you, but to focus you.

“The proper role of goals is to liberate us, so that we can enjoy the here and now.” – Tal Ben Shahar

The way you write a goal sets up you for success so in this final episode, you’ll be guided through writing detailed goals, both short and long-term, with defined completion dates.
